Love Is In The Air That Our Heavenly Father Created For Us

Love is a divine gift from God. He shows us love every day by raising the sun to shed light to all His children. He is love.  I love this quote from President Gordon B. Hinkley regarding love:
“One of the grand errors we tend to make when we are young is supposing that a person is a bundle of qualities, and we add up the individual’s good and bad qualities, like a bookkeeper working on debits and credits.
“If the balance is favorable, we may decide to take the jump (into marriage). … The world is full of unhappy men and women who married because … it seemed to be a good investment.
“Love, however, is not an investment; it is an adventure. And when marriage turns out to be as dull and comfortable as a sound investment, the disgruntled party soon turns elsewhere. …
“Ignorant people are always saying, ‘I wonder what he sees in her [or him],’ not realizing that what he [or she] sees in her [or him] (and what no one else can see) is the secret essence of love.” (Sydney J. Harris, Deseret News.)
He later says:
Each of us can, with effort, successfully root the principle of love deep in our being so that we may be nourished by its great power all our lives. For as we tap into the power of love, we will come to understand the great truth written by John: “God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God.” (1 Jn. 4:16.)
Never forget who is the root of our love and where we can find unconditional love always.

Beauty in Change

Change is a constant part of this life; as time moves on we shed our old skin and move toward our goals. We have the potential and possibility to grow and become if we let ourselves change. Some things we cannot help but watch change, it happens around us constantly. However, It is up to US what we want to keep in ourselves and what we will allow to transform.

The Holy Ghost is a constant reminder of the change we need to let happen within ourselves. Conversion through the Atonement of Jesus Christ is a change of our heart. Is it a lasting change? I want it to be.

If a flower was to stem into a bud and then stop growing; never break open to show its glorious color and beautiful array of petals, it will have missed out on its most wonderful purpose and the fruit of that plant would never come forth.

We are a beautiful product of change.

The lasting power of the Atonement is available to help us change, we need only to accept it and become the beings we are divinely destined to be.

What awaits your change of heart?

Love Without Fear

Love: Thoughts From a Studying Missionary

3rd of February 2014
I have always been very interested in the dynamics of people and their interactions with each other. With Valentines Day drawing near, I have been thinking about love. Love is not an easy thing. Some people would even say it simply isn't worth the work. Period. But I found something worth reading in my study today that might make you think differently about becoming a master at the art of love...

In the past I have known and even experienced different cases in which love was shied away from because of the fear of getting hurt or of even hurting someone else. Now I'm not talking romantic relationships necessarily, but even friendships have been tainted or dulled because of fear to open up to someone. Fear of love. Isn't that a silly concept? A scripture I have been drawn to recently is 1 John 4 where it says "There is no fear in love," & "He that feareth in not made perfect in love." Weird, if perfect love casts out fear, then we should probably be trying to figure out how to open our hearts a little bit more.

Christ speaks in D&C 6:36 and says "Look unto me in every thought, doubt not fear not."
Charity is the pure love of Christ...
So basically, he that is charitable and kind, the same is becoming more perfect in Christ and growing a better understanding of Him and our Heavenly Father. And that leads me back to 1 John 4:8, "He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love."

If God is love, how do we make Him a larger part of our relationships? How do we strengthen the people we love through God?
